If you have a handmade business and looking to stand out from the rest this holiday season, then here are some tips to do so. It is that time of year where USPS, FEDX and UPS are going to start shipping packages in overdrive. Packing your merchandise to be shipped out is extremely important. The way you wrap your product can show that your creative talent does not end at your merchandise but carries through your entire business.
Creative packaging is an extension to your craft and helps market your business further. Receiving a beautifully, creative package is just as exciting as what's inside. This is why you should come up with a packaging strategy. Whether you use a recycled materials, reusable packaging, boxes, bags, tissue paper, ribbons or bakers twine, every little detail will matter.
Packaging reflects the quality of your merchandise and shows your passion to please your consumers. There are endless possibilities so be sure to think outside the box. It is a must to place a photo on how your product will be packaged. This will give your customer an insight on what to expect especially if they are ordering for a gift.
Take the time and gather your packaging strategy materials, organize them in one spot so when the orders start coming in for the holidays you will be ready and consistent with your business.

Thanks for the tips! I agree that packaging is hugely important for Etsy sellers. I wrap up all my products in clear cellophane (so they can gift it but also see what they bought). I tie it with ribbon on either end like a giant piece of candy, since my shop name is SweeterThanSweets.
ReplyDeleteI hadn't thought about including a photo of the packaging, though. Thanks!
