Feature Shop: Andralynn Creative Designs

The Adventures of The Tortoise and The Hare by Andrea Doss
Good morning! I love our feature shop's whimsical, colorful artwork, so I am happy to introduce you to Andrea of Andralynn Creative Designs! -Cori of Peace, Baby! Batiks

What is your name?
Andrea Doss

Where are you located?
Fort Worth, TX

What type of merchandise will shoppers find in your shop?
Whimsical, storybook style paintings and a lot of imagination.

How long have you been painting?
I picked up my first paintbrush when I was just four years old--much to my mother's dismay (my first work of art was painted on my bedroom wall). I've been painting ever since.

What is your favorite thing to make?
While I sometimes dabble in traditional art, like a still life or landscape, I am overwhelmingly drawn to creating storybook style art that inspires imagination and fun.

What are your favorite colors and materials to work with?
I like bright, fun colors that jump off the canvas and grab hold of the viewer.

What inspires you to create?
Like most members of SAHM of Etsy, I'm sure, my main source of inspiration comes from my children. My girls are so imaginative, it would be hard NOT to be inspired.

How do you balance mothering and running a small business?
I have lots of help. I wouldn't consider a painting complete if my two year old hadn't swiped at it with a paintbrush and my eight year hadn't given me her professional art critic opinion.

When you're not crafting, what are you doing?
Chasing kiddos (what else?) and reading whatever I can get my hands on. I absolutely love the library.
