Tell us a little about yourself.
I am a SAHM of three children ages 6 and under. I have always loved creating and crafting of any kind but only recently found the time to open my Etsy shop. I actually started creating growth charts about six years ago as gifts, and they were so well received I had requests to purchase them too. With two children it was entirely possible to do so, and I created and sold a few prior to having my third baby in 2008. At that time I took a break from creating to handle the joys and challenges of three children age 3 and under. In 2011, I realized that I finally had the time and energy to devote to creating again and friends of mine suggested that I look into opening an Etsy shop. I opened my shop in February of 2011 and have been enjoying every moment of creating anything and everything ever since. In the past, I would have said creating the growth charts was my favorite pastime, however, I recently started making girls' hair bows and I am finding that very entertaining. My girls are always so excited to see my creations and they certainly let me know which ones are their favorites.

How do you balance mothering and running a small business?
I am not sure I have truly figured out the secret to taking care of my family and running my small business, but I certainly am trying. I have specified time in the mornings right after breakfast that I devote to my business and then I put it all away until the end of the day after the kids are in bed. I also love to read and when I am not crafting, cleaning, or spending time with the kids, I am buried in a good book.

What is your favorite thing to browse Etsy for?
I love browsing Etsy for anything and everything. I am in awe of the talent, beautiful items, and level of creativity I find on Etsy. I think because I love all types of crafting that it would be impossible for me to pick one shop that I love the best. However, I have been truly blessed to find www.thethriftygift.etsy.com; we both love crafting of any kind, her items are beautiful, and a true friendship has blossomed just from us meeting on Etsy.
